Tweeds was an early mover in the video editing & posting space. They envisioned a simpler way to crop & post favorite videos among their social circle way before Tik Tok & Reels became the norm. Tweeds allowed users to pick a part of any video available online & crop them within the app, post them to their social circle through its feed. It even had a story section that made videos/stories disappear after 24 hours.
Tweeds was a challenging product to be implemented technically but we pulled it off using the ffmpeg library and custom coding on both iOS & Android versions. Product was well-received but due to stiff competition from bigger players & lack of funds it eventually lost. Nevertheless we were super proud to have given life to an idea that was well ahead of its time.
Product roadmap was carefully crafted & delivered. It racked up 10,000 beta users within span of 2 weeks & those early adopters loved it. Milestones were met as planned and it started to grow organically without any technical glitch due to the scalable architecture. It had 100,000 users within 3 months of its launch but had to get shelved as it was well ahead of its time.
